What to Expect - Private Equity Intern (Cedre, Paris, France)

Overview

This finance firm is seeking a Private Equity Analyst Intern to join their investment team for a 6-month internship starting September 2026. The firm is a French family-owned investment holding company established 30 years ago, specializing in supporting profitable and growing companies across all sectors. The team completes approximately 6 investments per year as majority or minority shareholders, with investment tickets ranging from €5M to €15M. The firm also invests in funds and maintains a dedicated impact investment portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the analysis of new investment opportunities
  • Conduct in-depth studies on target companies, their competitive environment, and markets
  • Support execution of investment transactions including due diligence processes, financial modeling, and preparation of investment committee documentation
  • Assist in negotiation and preparation of legal transaction documentation (NDAs, offer letters, etc.)
  • Provide support in monitoring portfolio companies and various cross-functional projects
  • Work on direct investments (approximately 80% of time) and investment fund activities (approximately 20% of time)

Skills & Experience

  • Student in second part of gap year or final year of studies
  • Demonstrated genuine interest in company investment
  • Previous mandatory internship experience in one of the following areas:
  • Private Equity investment team
  • M&A or Leveraged Finance department at an investment bank
  • Transaction Services department
  • Strategy consulting firm
