What to Expect - M&A Intern (Lincoln International, Paris, France)

Overview

Join the Paris office of a mid-cap investment bank as an M&A Intern and gain hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions advisory. This internship offers direct exposure to sell-side, buy-side, merger, and leveraged buyout transactions while working alongside an integrated team of more than 40 professionals in France. The role provides comprehensive training in investment banking fundamentals, from deal origination through execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in origination and execution of sell-side, buy-side, merger, and leveraged buyout transactions
  • Assist in preparation of client presentations and information memoranda
  • Conduct industry research including target company analysis, market analysis, and competitive positioning
  • Perform sector analysis and financial valuation of companies using DCF and multiples methodologies
  • Support all aspects of transaction execution processes

Skills & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in business or engineering school seeking investment banking internship experience
  • Solid financial knowledge including accounting, financial analysis, and company valuation methods
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
  • Proficiency with relevant IT tools and software
  • Creative thinking with ability to present ideas aligned with client development strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capability to manage high-level professional relationships
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to excellence
  • Previous exposure to investment banking, audit, transaction services, or private equity preferred but not required
