Overview

This is a senior, high-impact product management role within the Private Markets team of a private credit fund, based in London. Sitting at the intersection of investment, distribution, and strategy, the Associate Director will take end-to-end ownership of key product initiatives across a European private credit platform spanning broadly syndicated loans, CLOs, direct lending, and special situations.

The successful candidate will serve as a core partner to Portfolio Managers and Client Portfolio Managers, shaping product strategy, driving commercial outcomes, and representing the platform in senior internal and external settings. This role demands deep expertise in private credit markets, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to influence stakeholders at the most senior levels of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own product strategy and positioning for key private credit capabilities across Europe, aligning with investment teams and distribution priorities.
  • Act as senior product lead on complex initiatives including new product development, fund launches, and platform evolution.
  • Partner closely with Portfolio Managers and Client Portfolio Managers to translate investment strategy into compelling client narratives and commercial solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Distribution, supporting fundraising strategies, investor engagement, and key client relationships.
  • Represent the product function in senior client interactions, including due diligence meetings, roadshows, and strategic discussions.
  • Lead the production of high-impact deliverables including thought leadership content, market insights, and differentiated product messaging.
  • Drive cross-functional execution across Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Marketing to ensure seamless product delivery.
  • Contribute to the long-term strategic development of the private credit platform and the broader private markets product function.
  • Provide guidance and informal leadership to junior team members.

Skills & Experience

  • Substantial experience in product management, investment, or client-facing roles within private credit or private markets.
  • Deep expertise in private credit, including fund structures, strategies, portfolio construction, and performance drivers.
  • Proven track record of owning complex, multi-workstream initiatives and operating autonomously in a fast-paced, front-office environment.
  • Strong experience partnering with senior stakeholders across investment and distribution functions.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to translate investment content into client solutions and fundraising outcomes.
  • Experience engaging with institutional investors and supporting fundraising efforts.
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills, with confidence in senior internal and external settings.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and familiarity with tools such as Bloomberg, Preqin, and eVestment.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Senior, autonomous position with genuine end-to-end ownership of product strategy across a multi-strategy European private credit platform.
  • Direct partnership with Portfolio Managers and Client Portfolio Managers, placing the role at the heart of both investment and commercial decision-making.
  • Broad platform scope covering broadly syndicated loans, CLOs, direct lending, and special situations.
  • Opportunity to shape the long-term strategic direction of the private credit platform within a well-resourced private credit fund.

Application Process

This role is being recruited directly by the private credit fund\'s internal talent acquisition team. Interested candidates should apply with an up-to-date CV and a brief outline of their relevant private credit product or investment experience.
