Overview

This is an Investment Analyst or Associate role within the Global Infrastructure team at a global private equity firm. The team of 35 investment professionals operates across London, New York, San Francisco, and Singapore, investing in infrastructure assets through GP-led secondaries, LP portfolio secondaries, co-investments, and primary fund selection. The firm manages significant discretionary capital across private equity, infrastructure, and private credit, and serves more than 1,000 client relationships globally.

The successful candidate will be hired at Analyst or Associate level depending on experience, and will play an active role across the full investment lifecycle — from deal origination and execution through to portfolio monitoring and client reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, interrogate, and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate investments, including discounted cash flow, project finance, and LBO analyses as relevant.
  • Support due diligence by reviewing materials, conducting sector and market research, and coordinating input from advisors and internal specialists.
  • Prepare investment materials for internal committees, including investment theses, downside cases, sensitivity analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Support transaction execution across process management, data room work, Q&A tracking, and legal documentation through to closing.
  • Monitor existing investments and underlying managers through quarterly updates, KPI tracking, and portfolio analytics.
  • Represent the team professionally with GPs, advisers, and other counterparties, including attendance at meetings and industry events where appropriate.
  • Contribute to fundraising and client reporting materials, responding to investor and consultant requests accurately and on time.

Skills & Experience

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure, energy, renewables, utilities, digital infrastructure, transport, broader private markets investing, corporate finance, advisory, or asset management.
  • Strong financial modelling capability, including building and auditing models from scratch, structuring sensitivities, and producing decision-ready outputs.
  • Solid understanding of valuation and deal mechanics, including return drivers, financing structures, and key diligence workstreams.
  • Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance, ideally in a numerate discipline; progress toward a relevant professional qualification such as ACA or CFA is beneficial but not required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with high attention to detail and strong standards of formatting and presentation.
  • Analytically rigorous, with a sound grasp of infrastructure fundamentals and key sub-sectors.
  • Sound commercial judgement — able to form, defend, and refine an investment view using data and clear logic.
  • Clear communicator, able to translate complex analysis into concise materials for senior decision-makers.
  • Highly organised, comfortable managing parallel workstreams and delivering under time pressure.
  • Professional and confident in counterparty and advisor interactions across meetings and diligence processes.
  • Motivated by a fast-paced deal execution environment and able to perform with limited supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, influencing, and relationship-building skills across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

Why This Role Stands Out

The global private equity firm has been investing in private markets for more than 40 years and operates a genuinely global platform with over 140 investment professionals across 12 offices. The infrastructure team is well-resourced and covers a broad mandate — spanning energy transition, digital infrastructure, transport, and utilities — giving the successful candidate exposure to a diverse deal pipeline across multiple geographies and transaction types.

The role offers direct involvement in live transactions from an early stage, meaningful responsibility within a collaborative team culture, and the opportunity to develop deep expertise across infrastructure sub-sectors at a firm with significant scale and institutional standing.

Application Process

Candidates should apply with a current CV. The role is based in London and is open to candidates at both Analyst and Associate level, with the title and seniority determined by the experience and background of the appointed candidate.
