Overview

This is an Investment Analyst role based in Vienna, Austria (hybrid), sitting within a global capital formation team that is among the most active limited partners in emerging venture capital managers worldwide. The team\'s mission is to back first- and second-time fund managers who identify and fund the businesses of tomorrow, targeting both exceptional financial returns and meaningful global impact.

The team is lean, entrepreneurial, and high-performing. This role reports directly to a Founding Partner and places the successful candidate at the intersection of investment due diligence, investor relations, fundraising, and portfolio operations. It is a strategic function, not a support role, and carries real responsibility from day one.

Compensation is €50,000–€60,000 per year, with potential for bonuses and carried interest participation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct due diligence on prospective first- and second-time fund managers, reporting directly to the founding partners.
  • Source fund manager candidates through networking and independent research.
  • Review and assess fund manager applications and investment strategies.
  • Analyze financial data and market trends to evaluate investment theses and fund strategies.
  • Manage and monitor the existing portfolio of fund investments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with emerging fund managers across the ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with the team to optimize fee structures and investment terms.
  • Provide operational support and assist with regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Track industry trends and market developments relevant to the venture capital landscape.
  • Represent the global capital formation team at industry events and networking opportunities.

Fundraising

  • Actively participate in fundraising efforts, including the development of marketing materials and investor presentations.
  • Engage with prospective investors to communicate the team\'s value proposition and investment approach.
  • Contribute to fundraising strategy and help meet capital-raising targets.
  • Coordinate investor meetings, due diligence processes, and fundraising documentation.

LP Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing limited partners to ensure ongoing satisfaction and engagement.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for LPs, addressing inquiries and providing regular updates.
  • Understand LP investment goals and ensure alignment with the team\'s strategies.
  • Coordinate LP reporting, including performance reports and financial statements.
  • Organize LP meetings, conferences, and events to foster strong, lasting connections.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, or computer science.
  • At least two years of experience in a comparable role, ideally within venture capital, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or a high-growth startup.
  • Strong financial analysis and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is an advantage.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with precision and follow-through.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage credibly with senior investors and fund managers.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with a high tolerance for risk and uncertainty.
  • Creative and strategic thinker who works well within a small, collaborative team.
  • Based in Vienna or willing to relocate.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Competitive base salary of €50,000–€60,000, with potential for performance bonuses and carried interest.
  • Direct exposure to a global network of top-tier investors, entrepreneurs, and emerging fund managers.
  • A front-row seat to the emerging manager ecosystem and the future of venture capital.
  • A culture built on high performance, ownership, and deep trust, with no tolerance for poor behavior.
  • Meaningful room for growth: strong performers are given increasing responsibility with no artificial ceiling.
  • The opportunity to contribute to investments that address significant global challenges.

Application Process

To apply, submit your application and include a note explaining why you are the right person for this role and what you would bring to the global capital formation team. The team is looking for candidates who are genuinely excited about the mission, the work, and their own development within the venture capital ecosystem.
