Overview

This is an analyst internship opportunity within the Lower-Mid Cap investment team at a mid-cap private equity firm based in Paris. The firm manages close to €1 billion in assets across 33 portfolio investments and has supported more than 110 French and European SMEs and mid-sized companies over the years. Its investment activity spans majority and minority equity stakes as well as debt financing, with a focus on LBO and growth transactions across healthcare, B2B services, technology, and industrial sectors.

The internship sits within the Lower-Mid Cap strategy, one of three core investment approaches alongside Small Cap and Private Debt. The firm integrates ESG considerations across its investment and portfolio management activity. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of an analyst, investment manager, or portfolio director and will be involved in live deal and portfolio work from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse investment opportunities and contribute to deal screening
  • Participate in drafting investment committee presentation materials
  • Build and maintain financial models
  • Prepare company valuation work
  • Support portfolio monitoring and assist in the preparation of supervisory board materials
  • Conduct sector research, documentary analysis, target identification, and investment memoranda for new opportunities and existing portfolio companies

Skills & Experience

  • Strong command of financial analysis and a solid understanding of LBO mechanics
  • Rigorous, autonomous, and proactive, with the ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively
  • Intellectually curious and creative, with strong analytical and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a team environment
  • Currently enrolled in a Bac+5 programme at a leading business school, engineering school, or university with a specialisation in corporate finance
  • Prior experience in one or more of the following: private equity, M&A, acquisition finance, transaction services, audit, or strategy consulting
