EUCLYD, an Eindhoven-based semiconductor systems startup, has raised a Series A funding round of more than €200 million to accelerate development of “ultra-efficient” infrastructure for foundation AI models.

EUCLYD, an Eindhoven-based semiconductor systems startup, has raised a Series A funding round of more than €200 million to accelerate development of “ultra-efficient” infrastructure for foundation AI models. The round was co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, the EQT-managed Scaleup Europe Fund, and Innovation Industries. Additional backing came from EIFO (Denmark’s export and investment fund), imec.xpand, the Brabant Development Agency (BOM), and Quadri. Alongside the raise, Peter Wennink, the former President and CEO of chip-equipment giant ASML, has joined Euclyd’s board as Chairman. “AI is becoming a foundation of economic growth, scientific discovery, and national competitiveness, but its potential will remain constrained unless we fundamentally change the infrastructure beneath it. This financing accelerates our mission to make intelligence abundant through greater efficiency, lower cost per token, and broader access to advanced AI,” said Bernardo Kastrup, founder and Chief Executive Officer of EUCLYD. Founded in 2024 by Kastrup and Atul Sinha at High Tech Campus Eindhoven, EUCLYD is building AI infrastructure that aims to solve the compute and memory hurdle. Amid the call to pace the frontier, AI companies are struggling with a s first agentic AI silicon, and craftwerk station CWS, described as the world’s lowest-power exascale AI factory. Together, the platform pairs programmable ASIC compute with processor-memory co-design and system-level optimisation, aimed at the memory and efficiency constraints that the company argues are holding back AI performance and scalability as models keep growing. “The next phase of AI will be defined not only by model innovation, but also by the efficiency and scalability of its infrastructure. EUCLYD combines an accomplished team with a differentiated vision addressing constraints in AI data centres,” said Dede Goldschmidt, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics and Head of the Samsung Semiconductor Innovation Centre.  While building craftwerk and craftwerk station CWS are EUCLYD’s immediate goals, the company aims to achieve what it calls “Abundant Intelligence”, an AI-driven future in which advanced AI is not limited by infrastructure costs, power availability, or geography. The Series A round is meant to be the first major step toward building the chip and systems capacity needed to get there, positioning the young Dutch company as a European challenger in a global race to make AI computing cheaper and more energy-efficient. EUCLYD says the new capital will be used to expand its engineering team, accelerate development of its silicon and systems roadmap, deepen partnerships across the industry, and enable the company to sell into enterprise, government, and hyperscale AI markets.
