Full Description
This is an analyst-level position on the MENA investment team of a global capital formation team focused on venture capital in emerging markets. The role is based in the Middle East or North Africa and is full-time.
The Role
The Investment Analyst works across deal execution, portfolio management, and stakeholder engagement within the MENA region. The position involves a high degree of autonomy from an early stage, with structured support and training during the first months. The analyst represents the investment team locally and works directly with founders across the portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Conduct due diligence and execute investment contracts for prospective deals.
- Support founders with corporate governance and fundraising readiness, including investment decks, financial models, and data rooms.
- Research, analyse, and document steps of the investment process to inform internal decision-making.
- Maintain accurate investment data, metrics, and files for existing and prospective deals.
- Monitor portfolio companies, track key business metrics, and support their fundraising efficacy.
- Track market developments, competitor activity, and technology trends relevant to current and prospective investments.
- Build and maintain relationships with portfolio founders, co-investors, and ecosystem partners.
- Collaborate with the broader network of mentors, advisors, and stakeholders to support portfolio startups on fundraising and business development.
- Participate actively in startup communities across the region.
First-Month Milestones
- Complete investment processing training.
- Become familiar with the team\\\'s programmes, portfolio companies, and platform structure.
- Onboard a new company and document, analyse, and present steps of the investment management process.
- Take ownership of portfolio company communications proactively.
Three-Month Milestones
- Understand the investment strategy and conduct independent research on potential investments.
- Write investment committee memos.
- Analyse portfolio follow-on round terms and fund ownership.
- Execute at least two investment deals under direct supervision.
Nine-Month Milestones
- Execute investment deals independently with minimal supervision.
- Prepare startups for fundraising, including pitch materials, data rooms, and financial models.
- Establish a personal network of investors in the region.
- Receive confirmed feedback from portfolio companies as a trusted resource.
Required Profile
- Bachelor\\\'s degree in any discipline.
- One to two years of professional experience; strong internship or fellowship experience is acceptable.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects to completion with limited direction.
- Strong attention to detail and capacity for independent research.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools in a professional or academic context.
- Genuine interest in startups and startup ecosystems.
