Full Description
The Role
The global asset manager is hiring a Senior Financial Investment Manager based in Qatar. The role covers the full investment lifecycle: origination, due diligence, approval, execution, and post-investment performance management. The position reports into and supports executive leadership and governance bodies, including investment committees and boards.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Strategy and Portfolio Management
- Lead development and execution of the organisation\'s investment strategy in line with corporate objectives.
- Manage a diversified investment portfolio with focus on returns, strategic fit, and capital allocation.
Investment Evaluation and Due Diligence
- Oversee financial, commercial, and strategic due diligence for new investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Assess risk, return, valuation, and long-term viability for each opportunity.
Financial Modelling and Valuation
- Build and review complex financial models, valuations, and investment cases.
- Conduct scenario, sensitivity, and stress testing with robust, defensible assumptions.
Investment Approval and Governance
- Prepare investment papers for executive committees, investment committees, and boards.
- Deliver recommendations supported by financial analysis, risk assessment, and strategic rationale.
Post-Investment Performance Management
- Monitor approved investments against business plans, financial targets, and return metrics.
- Identify underperformance risks and recommend corrective, optimisation, or exit strategies.
Risk Management and Capital Protection
- Identify, assess, and manage financial and commercial risks across the portfolio.
- Ensure appropriate risk mitigation structures, covenants, and governance mechanisms are in place.
Stakeholder and Partner Engagement
- Engage with internal stakeholders, external advisors, partners, and investors to progress investment initiatives.
- Coordinate inputs from legal, technical, commercial, and operational teams.
Market Intelligence and Opportunity Development
- Monitor market trends, sector developments, and competitive dynamics to identify new opportunities.
- Provide insights to senior leadership to support investment decision-making.
Skills & Experience
Experience
- 12–18 years of experience in investment management, corporate finance, private equity, or strategic finance.
- Proven experience managing complex investment transactions and portfolios across multiple sectors or asset classes.
- Demonstrated exposure to investment committees, executive leadership, and board-level decision processes.
Technical Skills
- Deep expertise in financial analysis, valuation methodologies, and return assessment across equity, debt, and hybrid investment structures.
- Ability to identify financial, commercial, and structural risks and design mitigation strategies.
- Strong understanding of business models, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
Interpersonal and Leadership Skills
- Ability to present investment recommendations and risks clearly to senior leadership and boards.
- Proven ability to coordinate complex stakeholder groups and manage advisors, partners, and counterparties through transaction lifecycles.
Education
- Bachelor\'s degree in a related field.
- Master\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
