The Role

The Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) supports the management and maintenance of corporate banking relationships, working in coordination with the Unit Head and Head of Corporate Banking. In addition to managing an assigned portfolio, the ARM provides day-to-day support to the Relationship Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage an assigned portfolio of existing corporate clients to retain and grow banking relationships in line with business growth targets.
  • Identify, solicit, and acquire new corporate clients in line with approved institutional strategies across assets, liabilities, trade, and treasury sales.
  • Structure credit lines in conformity with the bank's underwriting standards and risk-adjusted targets, following thorough analysis and preparation of detailed credit proposals.
  • Make regular client visits for monitoring and business generation purposes.
  • Manage day-to-day banking requirements for clients and handle security documentation professionally.
  • Conduct account planning with client service team members and cross-sell products and services to commercial clients to support multi-product relationships.
  • Facilitate referrals to Wealth and Consumer Banking where business opportunities arise.
  • Maintain effective internal and external communication to meet turnaround time requirements and support client satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely and accurate credit administration, including completion of annual reviews and regular monitoring of financials, covenants, and other parameters.
  • Comply with internal audit requirements in line with policy guidelines.
  • Monitor local business environment developments to identify business opportunities and contribute to institutional business strategy planning.
  • Build and maintain contacts within the local business and financial institutions community.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Management; CFA or CA qualification also accepted.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate or institutional banking in the UAE.
  • Experience within a World Bank Group corporate banking context is noted.
